Yuvakalari by KAN youth Forum

By Sajan Perumpalli, Youth Forum Chair

KAN Youth Forum Conducts Engaging Yuvakalari Program at Edmondson Pike Branch Library
Nashville, TN | March 21, 2026:

The KAN Youth Forum successfully conducted Yuvakalari, a vibrant youth-focused cultural program, on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Edmondson Pike Branch. The event saw enthusiastic participation from the KAN community, with a strong turnout of children, 10 Youth Forum members, along with parents and other KAN committee members in attendance.

The Youth Forum is currently chaired by Sajan Perumpalli and Nisha Prabhakaran, who coordinated and led the event with the goal of encouraging cultural engagement and community bonding among children and youth.

The program was thoughtfully structured into three interactive sections, ensuring active participation and enjoyment for all age groups.

Program Highlights

Malayalam Story Builder
The event began with a creative storytelling activity where participants collaboratively built a Malayalam story in a chain format. Each participant added a new segment to the story, encouraging imagination, language skills, and teamwork. The activity was well received and sparked laughter and creativity among the children.

Malayalam Jeopardy
The second segment featured a lively Malayalam Jeopardy game, with questions centered on Kerala’s culture, traditions, and heritage. This interactive quiz not only tested the participants’ knowledge but also helped reinforce cultural awareness in a fun and engaging manner.

Zumba to Malayalam Movie Songs
The program concluded with an energetic Zumba session set to popular Malayalam movie songs. Children enthusiastically participated, turning the session into a joyful celebration filled with music, movement, and excitement.

Throughout the event, kids enjoyed snacks, games, and social interaction, making the afternoon both entertaining and memorable. Parents were actively supportive of the initiative and appreciated the Youth Forum’s efforts to create a culturally enriching and inclusive environment for the younger generation. KAN President Sankar A was present at the event and handed over small gifts to the winners of various activities, further encouraging and motivating the participants.

The success of Yuvakalari highlights the KAN Youth Forum’s ongoing commitment to nurturing cultural roots, leadership, and community engagement among youth and children. The event concluded on a positive note, with families expressing appreciation and encouragement for similar programs in the future.
