NASHVILLE MARATHON VOLUNTEERING -2026

Santhosh P Ramachandran, Outreach Committee Chair

KAN Outreach Committee Leads Community Volunteer Effort at St. Jude Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon, Nashville, TN | April 25, 2026

The Kerala Association of Nashville (KAN), through its Outreach Committee, successfully organized a community volunteer effort at the St. Jude Rock ‘n’ Roll Nashville Marathon on Saturday, April 25, 2026.

KAN volunteers managed a water station along the marathon route and supported runners throughout the event. This effort continued KAN’s long-standing involvement in community service and its commitment to giving back to the Greater Nashville community.

Led by Outreach Committee Chair Santhosh P. Ramachandran, the volunteer effort, brought together around 60 KAN members, including adults, youth, and children. Volunteers arrived early in the morning, worked together as a team, and represented KAN with great energy and dedication.

The team helped set up the water station, distribute refreshments to runners, keep the area organized during the race, and assist with cleanup after the event. Their teamwork and positive attitude helped the station run smoothly and created a welcoming environment for the marathon participants.

A special highlight of this year’s effort was the participation of children and youth, who volunteered alongside their parents and other community members. Their involvement made the event even more meaningful and helped introduce them to the value of community service, responsibility, and teamwork.

As a token of appreciation, digital volunteer certificates were provided to the children who participated, recognizing their time, effort, and enthusiasm. This small gesture was intended to encourage them to continue taking part in future volunteer and community service activities.

KAN President Sankar Mana, Vice President Suseela Somarajan, Secretary Sujith Pillai, Treasurer Suma Ayyappan, Food Committee Chair Sibi Ramachandran, Vice Chair Arun P. R., Women’s Forum Chair Praseeda Raju, Youth Forum Chair Sajan Perumpalli, and Executive Committee Member Manoj Rajan were present and supported the effort.

By participating in a major Nashville event like the St. Jude Rock ‘n’ Roll Nashville Marathon, KAN continues to build stronger connections with the wider community while creating meaningful volunteer opportunities for its members.

KAN sincerely thanks all volunteers, families, and committee members who gave their time and effort to make this initiative successful. The event ended on a very positive note, with strong participation, excellent teamwork, and a shared sense of pride in serving the community.
